Excursion: Saturday 9 April, 1.30pm – Campbells Creek Landcare

Leader: Ian Higgins

Ian will guide members along sections of the Campbells Creek walking trail showcasing the restoration work of the local Landcare group over the past 30 years. He will show us a wildflower restoration experimental area and an area for restoration of a heathy woodland. He will also demonstrate how landcare efforts are reversing weed-dominated floodplains to native grasslands and riparian wetlands.

Meet: Meet at the Octopus (Duke St, opposite the Castle Motel) for departure at 1.30pm or at the northern end (after the seal ends) of Honeycomb Road, Campbells Creek.

Bring: Water, snacks, sturdy shoes, hat and afternoon tea.

The Field Trip will be cancelled in extreme weather conditions or if there is a high fire risk.
