SEANA & ANN

South East Australian Naturalists Association (SEANA)

Castlemaine Field Naturalists Club is a foundation member of SEANA, which is an association of south-east Australian natural history clubs founded in 1996 to promote field naturalist ideals and provide opportunities for members of affiliated clubs to get together for shared activities. Most years SEANA arrange two camps, one in autumn and one in spring, usually hosted by an affiliated club, where field naturalists come together in a designated area to explore the surrounds under the guidance of local experts. Usually accommodation/camping facilities and meals are provided at reasonable prices. These camps are a wonderful opportunity to meet with other naturalists and to learn about the natural environment. Castlemaine FNC has hosted several of these get-togethers, the last one we hosted was the 2019 Spring Camp.

Details for forthcoming camps will be posted on our “Other Activities” page.

Australian Naturalists Network (ANN)

We are also affiliated with the Australian Naturalists Network (ANN).  ANN normally have annual get togethers across Australia.  These gatherings are an opportunity to get to know the naturalists and natural history of areas further afield.
