Our region is floristically diverse with over 1200 species of flowering plant recorded locally. There are also non-flowering plants such as ferns, mosses, liverworts and algae. In addition to this, a diverse array of fungi, many unnamed, may be found particularly during the cooler months when their fruiting bodies emerge.
