Leader: Judy and Phil Hopley, “ANZAC Hill walk, Maldon”
This interesting walk will encompass the ANZAC Circle – a circle of 32 Yellow Gums planted to honour some of the local men and women who died in WWI. We will also visit the location of the WWII Air Observation Station and the Mount Tarrengower Tunnelling Company tunnel.
Bev Phillips, President of MULGA (Maldon Urban Landcare Group), will join us on the walk and talk about the replanting of the trees in 2018 and again in 2019.
The walk will conclude with our picnic afternoon tea as we enjoy a wonderful view of the historic Maldon township.
Meet: for car-pooling and 1.30pm departure at the northern end of the car park, north of the Railway Goods Shed, Kennedy St. Castlemaine.
Or meet at 1.45pm at the car park at the top of ANZAC Hill Rd (Google Maps).
Bring: water, snacks, clean sturdy shoes, chairs, afternoon tea.
