Note: Change of Location
Leader: Joy Clusker “Fungi search at the Oak Forest, Harcourt”
There is a change of location for our fungi search owing to recent storm damage to the fungi at the Bullarto site. Instead, we will now visit the Oak Forest, Harcourt where Joy reports a better display of fungi. Of interest will be a fire-affected area where several species of fungi that appear after fire can be found. This will now be a half-day excursion.
Meet: for 9.30am departure at the northern end of the car park, north of the Railway Goods Shed, Kennedy St. Castlemaine.
Or meet at 9.45am at the Oak Forest, Picnic Gully Road, Harcourt (Google Maps). Look out for the Castlemaine Field Naturalists banners at the Goods Shed carpark and at the Oak Forest.
Bring: water, snacks, clean sturdy shoes, a small mirror for viewing the underside of fungi caps, and a kneeling mat or knee pads.
