SEANA Spring 2026 Castlemaine

Castlemaine Field Naturalists Club will be hosting the SEANA Spring 2026 Get-together in Castlemaine on Djaara country.  Our region includes extensive Box-Ironbark woodlands, Mount Alexander and Mount Moorul with their granite boulders; and the volcanic Moolort plains to the west with wetlands and remnant native grasslands.  In Spring the wildflowers transform the woodlands, while the Loddon River, local creeks, wetlands and reservoirs provide water for the birds and aquatic life.  A full and diverse program of excursions has been planned to showcase these different environments and their native flora and fauna.

When: Friday 9th – Sunday 11th October 2026

Central Facility: Events will be based around the Campbells Creek Community Centre, 60 Elizabeth St, Campbells Creek.

This will be our central meeting point for registration on arrival, for daytime refreshments and for evening meals and talks on the Friday and Saturday evenings.

See our invitation letter for more information about the weekend.

To cater for expected numbers there will be several activities in each time slot with some activities being repeated over the two days. Most excursions will be within 20km of Castlemaine. We encourage car-pooling where possible.
