Sunday 29th November 10am - 1pm
You are invited to join with the Friends of Kalimna Park and the Eltham Copper Butterfly team from North Central CMA to learn more about and help with the Eltham Copper Butterfly project in Kalimna Park.
We will be planting Sweet Bursaria to create more habitat for our special butterfly, the Eltham Copper (ECB). Staff from the North Central CMA will explain the project and how it will improve the resilience of our local ECB population. Once the planting is complete, we will go on a short walk to learn more about the requirements of the ECB and its habitat.

This event is on the same weekend as the Great Southern Bioblitz. During the walk you will be encouraged to record sightings of the flora and fauna that you encounter and load them to the iNaturalist website. By adding your sightings to iNaturalist you will add to our knowledge of the species that are found in Kalimna Park. You will also add to our GSB 2026 project. Leaders on the day will be able to provide guidance on the use of iNaturalist however it is recommended that you load the iNaturalist app from your phone’s app store and register as an iNaturalist user (if you haven’t already done so) prior to the event.
