Excursion: Saturday 11th February, 9.00am “The Grevillea obtecta project, Fryers Ridge”

  Leader: Georgie Custance

Rescheduled from last October when floods prevented our leader travelling here.

Enjoy a morning walk in the bush to see some local populations of the Fryerstown Grevillea (Grevillea obtecta) as well as the many other native plants that are in this area. During the walk, Georgie will demonstrate how to use ProofSafe to record your sightings of this wonderful species so that we can practice what we learnt at the February monthly meeting.  We hope to see you there to learn how you can contribute to the crucial monitoring and conservation of a rare plant that is thriving in our neighbourhood.

All welcome.

Meet: 9.00am at the Octopus (Duke St, opposite the Castle Motel) or 9.10am opposite the Service Station, Taradale.
Bring: Water, morning tea and sturdy shoes. If possible, but not essential, please download the threatened species monitoring app. ProofSafe on to your phone or tablet before the walk.

The Field Trip will be cancelled in extreme weather conditions.
