CANCELLED.  Excursion: Saturday 11th November, “Managing Remnant Vegetation”

Leader: Ian Higgins

Unfortunately, due to the high temperatures forecast for Saturday, we have decided to cancel our excursion to the grassland site. We will reschedule this important topic next year.

However, members and visitors are reminded of two other CFNC activities this weekend as detailed in our previous updates:

MONTHLY MEETING: Friday 10th November, 7.30pm, Uniting Church Chapel

Sophie Bickford, Executive Director of the Central Victorian Biolinks Alliance – “Community-connected Conservation across Central Victoria”

Sophie will explain the vital work of the Alliance in restoring and reconnecting large landscapes across public and private land in Central Victoria in order to halt environmental and species decline.

Observations.  Don’t forget to email your photos of interesting sightings as JPEG file(s) to Euan Moore (calamanthus5@bigpond.com) by noon on the day of the meeting.  And join us for supper afterwards. All welcome.

ROADSIDE CLEAN-UP: Monday 13th November, 9am

You are also invited to help out at our Roadside Cleanup next Monday morning. Not hard work and often some interesting plants to see along the way.

Meet: 9am near Tait’s Decorative Iron, corner of Willy Milly Rd and Pyrenees Highway, Castlemaine.

Bring: Gloves, water, sturdy footwear. Garbage bags and safety vests supplied.

Contact: Geoff Harris (mob 0418 392 183) if you can help with the clean-up.
